The City of Marion is located in both Waupaca and Shawano Counties. It lies about 40 miles west of Green Bay, 45 miles southeast of Wausau, 45 miles northwest of Appleton and 40 miles northeast of Stevens Point. Marion is big enough to grow in and small enough to care. A bustling, energetic community of 1,324 proudly looking to the future with deep roots anchored in a rich heritage. If you would have to describe the City of Marion in one word, it would be friendly. Friendly citizens, friendly businesses, an all-around friendly climate The natural beauty of the area's wooded land, farmland, lakes and streams is no secret and enjoyed by many year-round. The Marion Pond is famous for trophy sized game fish as well as providing good catches of panfish. There are many top-notch trout streams and thousands of acres of public hunting within minutes of Marion. Whitetail deer, turkey, grouse, geese, ducks, rabbits and squirrels are the most plentiful game available. The City of Marion has a strong industrial base which leads to its economic diversity. Add to this a mix of retail and professional services, and you have a desirable community. "This institution is an equal opportunity provider." No Mow May is an environmental campaign that encourages people to refrain from mowing their lawns during the month of May. The aim of the campaign is to help provide a habitat for pollinators such as bees, butterflies and other insects. During the month of May, many wildflowers are in bloom, providing a vital source of pollen for pollinators. By allowing these flowers to grow and avoiding mowing the lawn, people can help provide a much-needed refuge for these important pollinator species. The City of Marion will temporarily suspend enforcement of the "Regulation of length of lawn and grasses" ordinance for the month of May.

Mayor Goke will host office hours each month where constituents can ask questions, share concerns, and hear his thoughts on various topics. Appointments are not necessary.

Marion Area Veterans Memorial Veterans Park, Marion
The Marion Area Veterans Memorial will be a lasting tribute to those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. The memorial is intended for ANY veteran who has served (living or deceased) or who is currently serving. Local residency is not required or applicable. Status of discharge is not required.
This project is a joint effort of the American Legion Post 198, the City of Marion and area residents.
The memorial includes a monument recognizing each branch of the armed forces and flag poles to display the colors of our nation. The location will also create a meditative setting for visitors to reflect and display their pride for our area veterans.
The site is located at Veterans Park, Mavis Road, across from Premier Community Bank.
